Information:

This OID is used in clauses 7.1.2.5 and 7.2.7 of ISO/IEC 15961. It is not encoded on the Radio Frequency (RF) tag. Each object is encoded on the RF tag using a relative OID representing a data element according to the rules of EAN.UCC.

"EAN International", based in Brussels, and the Uniform Code Council, based in Lawrenceville, N.J., were folded into one organization, called GS1 in 2005. The global headquarters are in Brussels.
