Description:

ISO 9834-5 "Information technology -- Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) -- Procedures for the operation of OSI Registration Authorities -- Part 5: Register of Virtual Terminal (VT) Control Object Definitions"

Information:

ISO/IEC 9834-5 specifies the contents of register entries recording information about VT Control Object (CO) definitions and assigning unambiguous OIDs to VT COs (Virtual Terminal Control Objects) definitions. The VT COs specified in this register are defined for use with implementations of VT protocols claiming to conform to ISO/IEC 9041-1.

New OIDs allocated by the International Registration Authority for VT control object types shall be of the form:
{iso standard 9834 vt-co-def(5) reg(x) y}
where:
  1. reg(x) identifies the sub-register and takes the following values:
    • misco(0): MIScellaneous COs;
    • feico(1): Field Entry Instruction Control Object;
    • fepco(2): Field Entry Pilot Control Object;
    • rio(3): Reference Information Object;
    • tcco(4): Termination Conditions Control Object.
    Values for new sub-registers shall be defined in future VT standards which identify new classifications of CO for registration; and
  2. y is the number of the VT control object type in the international Sub-Register.
